Our production process mandates that each and every joint throughout the camper is glued together and reinforced with hardened steel screws. Quality materials, full sheet panelization, and screws going every direction stop your camper from flexing. When a camper flexes it breaks the seal, which can allow water infiltration. Northstar uses Premium plywood, no chip board in your camper, and pine studding in the walls and cabinets. These materials are easy to verify by looking inside our cabinets and under the seat cushions. We encourage you to put us to the test.
You can breathe easier in a Northstar camper because we care about formaldehyde emissions. These emissions are found in varying levels of concentration in various underlayment paneling available for manufacturing. We have chosen a premium underlayment paneling tested at only .02 parts per million formaldehyde emissions at a cost more than double other available paneling that have a much higher part per million concentration. We are decidedly conscientious about contaminants and their potential harm on the proud new owner of a Northstar.
Northstar Campers are now manufactured with "A" grade Lite Ply plywood.
The Lite Ply is an imported, European product that has been supplied for over 50 years to furniture, yacht and aircraft manufacturers.
Its' multi-ply construction is 35%-40% lighter than what we have been using.
The very low formaldehyde emission is another fantastic feature of the Lite Ply.
The use of Lite Ply will make Northstar a lighter, higher quality product.
Cabinets are screwed together before being full sheet glued, and panelized.
Then the equipment holes are routed out. No splices in your Northstar greatly increases structural strength.
Cabinets are set inside the camper and then screwed completely through the wall into the cabinets.
Wherever a cabinet wall or side meets with another, they are screwed together.
This commitment is to acquire an unmatched integral strength.
Good insulation that is installed properly works well for both the cold and the heat you may encounter while traveling or camping. All Northstar campers are hand fit with foam insulation. This insulation is in the floor, knee walls, sidewalls, front, back and roof. In addition, we offer optional insulated windows for the hard-walls and the optional Arctic Pak snap-in insulation kit for the pop-ups.
Wiring, gas and plumbing systems are designed and installed per code requirements with the utmost care and concern for the user.
Nice and neat. Equipment is installed the way you want it. Maximizing storage and making things accessible.
A Northstar pop-up or hard-wall could be up to 200 pounds heavier than other brands because of the quality of heavier materials and manufacturing processes used. Every Northstar has a 5/8" premium underlayment floor and outs (the area that goes over the truck bed), pre wrapped corners with galvanized steel, deep storage under the cabovers of pop-ups with the lift-up portion reinforced on a solid frame... just a few unique features that make a difference in a Northstar.
The certified weight label is normally located on the back of the truck camper, and lists the total weight with standard equipment, including full water and propane tanks, and excluding any options. Standard equipment varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and thereby affects the certified weight. A competitor's certified weight would be less than a Northstar because the Northstar comes standard with more equipment. In addition, Northstar lists the weight of all available options so that you can keep track of the weight as you customize.
